Our Aims
Our business revolves around hand-crafted products, many capturing the traditional colours and patterns associated with Mongolian life, yet meeting the tastes of our world-wide customers - we are not a run of the mill souvenir producer. We do not follow one product line.
We meet artisans and support them in developing products that have a market. We aim to support them in good business practices relating to finance, budgeting and planning and offer English language tuition to support global communication. We help them to develop work and life that has purpose and dignity.
We work to build trust with our artisans so that we can ensure they can earn at least the equivalent of one and one half times the country's current minimum wage – more if the market will bear it. Profit is clearly not our driving motive but to survive as a company and to support our associate artisans into the future we must make a small profit – in the region of 10-15% after tax. Our profits are used to develop the company and to support Lost Sheep Ministries in our local community.
We hope to be able to hand over a thriving business to one or two like-minded citizens of Mongolia to manage in five to seven year's time.
